I always have lots of nuts around (husband not included). I keep them in my freezer so that they don't get rancid. There's nothing worse than preparing a dish with rancid nuts!
Here is an old recipe from an old friend. It's definitely a favorite in my house:
2 2/3 cup almonds or mixed nuts
1/2 stick butter (4 TBS)
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp cayenne pepper
4 tsp cold water
Directions:
Melt butter, add brown sugar and water, soy sauce and cook for about 5 minutes.
In large bowl, place nuts and top with cooked syrup. Toss very well.
In 350 degree oven, place coated almonds on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Sprinkle with combination of salt and pepper and paprika.
Bakefor 10 minutes.
Cool completely before serving.
Note:
I have used all different kinds of nuts or combination of nuts. Use your favorite, preferably unroasted and unsalted.

I made the spiced nuts last night. Mine were a bit sweeter than yours were but still delicious.
Thanks for sharing your recipe.
